WP-Cats

WP-Cats is a Wordpress plugin that aids in mass category management.

What does it do?

WP-Cats augments the Manage Posts screen with Ajax controls that allow two-click adding and single-click removing of categories from individual posts.

If a post is filed only as Uncategorized, this category will be removed when any other is added. If you have previously added a category to a post on a page, you can add it to other posts by double-clicking the add-icon.

Please let me know if you like this, or encounter any issues/bugs. If you’re feeling magnanimous, I enjoy presents.

Notes

As far as I’m aware, this functions as designed on Firefox and Safari. For other browsers, YMMV.

Warning: The code that this interacts with is fragile, and seems to undergo a lot of frequent changes from the WP core team; every point release since 2.0 has broken functionality. If you’re on the most recent WP or a release candidate and WP-Cats doesn’t seem to be working, please drop me a line and I’ll try to help you out. No promises, though.
